Topic: FAITH (strong, confident belief in God) (02/26/15)
My daughter is a high school junior enjoying her third year of French class. She will soon be embarking upon a trip of a lifetime when she and her class leave for Paris, France in just a few weeks. It took courage for me to believe that she would be going with her class. I knew a trip like that would be very expensive, and the school was not paying for it.

We were able to arrange a payment plan in order to pay for the trip. However, payments were few and far between. As a single mom of three, a trip out of the country just wasn't in my budget. Many times, I regretfully thought of telling my daughter she could not attend this trip. But something just wouldn't let me lose hope.

I was in a store one day browsing and saw a calendar that said "Paris" on it. It had photos of landmarks of Paris, France, one for each month. I thought, "This is perfect for her!" However, at the time, I still wasn't certain I would be able to complete payment for this trip so I wasn't sure if I should even get the calendar for my daughter. Then I remembered something, you don't have to "see" it to believe it.

I purchased the calendar and brought it home and laid it on my daughter's bed when she was out of her room. She later found it there and came to me to say, "Thanks, Mom." I knew that not only was she thanking me for the calendar, but she was also thanking me for believing. I had to have the courage and faith to believe she would be able to go on the trip. We both learned a good lesson in faith.

The trip is now paid for in full. My daughter will be on a plane in a few weeks bound for Paris, France for a trip of a lifetime. To God be the glory!

There is nothing like faith to make you trust God that He will make things (the right things) happen for you. I am glad that your daughter will have this wonderful opportunity to go on this trip that will certainly be beneficial to her.

Great example of faith that I caused me to recognize my lack of faith in a similar situation... I wish I would have had that same faith for my daughter when she was thinking about going to Italy on a school trip. The trip never manifested, it was canceled by the school... and I even thanked God it was canceled because I didn't know if I even wanted her going. I hadn't even thought about believing God for the peace I needed and safety for the children who might be going at that time. I think it was during the time of 9/11 that had us all worried.

I enjoyed this message and could totally relate. My daughter wanted to go on a mission trip to Nicaragua. I never dreamed that she could raise the money, but God had other plans. It has also help her to grow up and become more responsible. I'm sure God has amazing plans for your daughter as well.
