panic and flee the approaching danger.
Panic . . .
Thump
The sweating mare, birthing, hiccups in fear;
thumps convulse her as her foal twists in her.
Fear . . .
Thump
The timorous mouse to his hole does he run;
scurries madly, breathlessly, life’s no longer fun.
Run . . .
Thump
My heart, beating wildly, seeks refuge from fear,
gasping and praying that our Lord will hear.
Gasping . . .
Thump
What brings on fear, the shaking disorder?
Emotions run ragged, defying all order.
Shaking . . .
Thump
Both man and beast challenged, alarmed, we flee
to whom, what and where? No safety for me?
Flee . . .
Thump
Beyond the grand “We”, who craft all our plans;
forsaking His Word, death lies in our hands.
Death . . .
Thump
Who refuse to agree that His way is life,
We pick up our weapons, live only for strife
Strife . . .
Thump
This battle is old, remember Ishmael and Isaac?
Their weapons of warfare were simple and basic.
Warfare . . .
Thump
For rivalry, jealously, man continually battles.
We scream out for surcease, we jump at our shadows.
Jump . . .
Thump
But the battle’s not ours to win or to lose,
the Great War is over, and we’ve but to choose.

Jesus, the Heartbeat for all of mankind,
gives joy to the frightened when He we do find.
Heartbeat . . .
Thump
Hearts beat anew with His perfect Heart;,
our lives anchored in Him, not wrenched apart.

Respite from battle, no longer alone
He enfolds us in His love, taking us Home.

KJV Matthew 24:3 “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another”.
KJV Revelation 2:10 “Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life”
KJV 1 Peter 1:8 “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:”
KJV John 14:2 “”In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
KJV 2 Corinthians 7:1 “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
Thank you, Father, that we are no longer fearful of enduring eternity without You. You are our Life and our Song, our Comfort, our true Joy Unspeakable.
Because of Your precious Son we have Light and Truth. Your Ten Commandment Law shows us what truly delights and honors You. Your Grace enables us to obey You, and Your Holy Spirit enlightens us.
We are truly blessed. May our purified hearts continue to beat as One.
“Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus . . .”
KJV Revelation 22:20 “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen”.

I didn't realize this was a rhyming poem until the third stanza. To me, at least, "warning" and "danger" don't rhyme, and "fear" and "her" don't rhyme to me either.
Nice job with this, overall, and I love the concept/style.
God bless~
