I write because I enjoy putting words on paper. Does it stress me out when I run into a road block, and my mind is totally blank? Yes, I get frustrated, but in my heart I instantly holler to Jesus. Help Lord, give me clarity of mind, direct my path, help me put words down that glorifies Your leading.
I guess all writers enjoy bring stories to life, and making their characters become as real as they possibly can. To me that is a sign of an excellent writer. What their life is like I cannot say. I do not walk in their shoes.
My favorite writer is Saul, known as Paul. If you study Paul’s life it was not an easy life. It was fraught with hardships such as hunger, beatings, imprisonment, and many other unpleasant happenings in his life. If that is the life of a writer than it is a hard life, and one that is willing to persevere unto the end regardless of all obstacles is someone who considers what they write important.
A writers life is filled with rejections not just once, but many times. Their manuscripts look as if they have been put through horrific battles. Notes in the margin written in red, paragraphs crossed out with short notations. When it is said, and done the manuscript looks as if it is bleeding blood from all the red ink.
Heartbreaks and heartaches is all part of a writers life until another publisher reads it, and something magical happens, they like the manuscript and see promise in getting it published.
I know many strive to become a published writer, and those people I applaud, but for me just putting down what’s in my heart is such a joy, and telling people about my God is all the payment I need.
The greatest writer is God, and His life is found in the Bible. His promises to us, His children, are beyond description. Do I readily understand all things written in the Bible? No. I’m not a theologian, but a child of God led to write what’s in my heart. Is my life difficult? At times, but hey I have a God who can move mountains, and make straight paths. To me this is a writers life, and all in all I consider my life blessed. Blessed beyond measure all because I am a Kings kid.
