Pain blazes on
The doctor's just left
His diagnosis must be wrong
I am too young
God can't just let me die
So many moments left unlived
I'm not ready to tell this world goodbye
On my knees I fall
Engulfed by the flames of hell that surround
Shielded by my loneliness, protected from my pain
Voices echo but no answers are found
Here I lay dying on the cold, cemented ground
Someone here my voice, just listen to my plea
Don't leave me here dying alone on my knees
"Cancer," the doctor whispers
The word echo empty like stone
He mutters, "Too far spread. Nothing more we can do."
No hope, knowing I have never felt so more alone
Lord, please just say something
To ease the pain I am suffering through
I can't do this on my own
Right now I need so much of you
On my knees I fall
Engulfed by the flames of hell that surround
Shielded by my loneliness, protected from my pain
Voices echo but no answers are found
Here I lay dying on the cold, cemented ground
Someone here my voice, just listen to my plea
Don't leave me here dying alone on my knees
Hearts are shattered
Pieces of hope strewn between lives
Jesus gently answers and softly replies,
"Dear child this is the reason for my sacrifice."
"I know your broken and suffering.
Thinking you're suffering on your own.
But all this time you've never ever been truly alone.
And on your knees you're always closer to home."
“Be still in the silence of death
And the seemingly unending pain
Grasp my hand and a reflection of yourself
I am here patiently waiting, still just the same.”
