A man walks on a broken road alone,
he knows not what his heart is longing for.
His time is near at hand, he must atone.
He ponders, is this real or is it lore?
He lives a simple life, keeps fear at bay,
still thoughts of great wealth fill his waking hours.
His dreams search deep – there’s nothing left to say.
Pray for springtime beauty in his bowers.
Now he covets his neighbors’ house and car,
then turns away and says, “I have no debt,”
but takes it farther, wishes on a star,
or cries to God, “Too high for me to get.”
Again he walks a broken road to find
a way to riches, live the easy life.
A fork in road, which one? He tries his mind,
for things of earth or for God’s will so rife.
The Lord implores our thanks for blessings rote,
each day He sends His love, mercy and grace.
In journal write a dated, honest note,
in Heaven, He’s prepared for us a place.
Take heed and store your treasures there with God,
you cannot take your silver nor fine gold.
Take care of how you live and where you trod,
His angels will assist as you grow old.

Just a note-the last line on verse two, it seemed a little awkward, it could just be me though, 'springtime' sort of read as a longer 'word' than the rest of the lines before it.
Good job though! ^_^
