The nurse fluttered into the room to check vital signs. She heard the man praying on the floor, but she just went on with her duties and left as quietly as she came in. As she went to the next room she couldn’t get the praying boy out of her mind. Oh well, just a few more hours and I’m out of here forever.

“Paul?” At the sound of the weak voice, Paul rose and hugged his Grandpa.
“Grandpa, I’m so glad you’re awake. I wanted to talk to you before I have to head back to school.”
“How’s school going? Tell me about your last soul-winning adventure.”
“Well, it has actually been a while Grandpa, with school and everything, I don’t have much time for soul-winning.”
“No time for soul-winning? What kind of Bible College are you going to? That ought to be a requirement.”
“I guess you’re right, Grandpa. I’ve been a little lax in that area lately.”
“Well, if I could just see one more soul saved, I’d be ready to go on home.” Grandpa pulled his Bible from the table and handed it to Paul. “Open it up to Matthew 28:19 and read what it says.”
Paul opened the old worn Bible to the passage, “Okay, it says, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
“Now see there, a commission from God. Go out and tell the world about Him. Suppose you met me on the street somewhere and the Lord laid it on your heart to witness to me. What would you say to me?”
With those stern eyes looking up into his and Grandpa’s jaw firmly set, Paul knew that his Grandpa meant business. “Okay, uh, hi sir my name is Paul. Um, I was just”
“Are you a preacher or a pansy? If you’re gonna win souls for Christ you better get some guts about you. You’ve got something to be excited about, son. You’re gonna help someone miss hell.”
“Okay, let’s start over. Hi sir. I’d like to tell you about the best day in my life.” Excitement started to fill his soul as he shared his testimony with Grandpa.
After he finished, Grandpa had the beginnings of a smile. “Sounds great, but what does this have to do with me?”
“Well sir, the same Jesus that gave me eternal life will give it to you too. He loved you so much that He came to this earth to die for your sins. All the wrong that you’ve ever done, he took the punishment for that. He loved you so much that he let men curse Him, beat Him, spit at Him, mock Him, and ultimately hang Him on a cross to die.”
“Well son, I’ve heard all that before. You don’t understand what kind of man I am. I’ve done some horrible things in my life. The last thing your Jesus wants is a loser like me.”
Still holding the Bible, Paul went on, “Sir, my Bible tells me that Christ died for all men. No matter what you’ve done, He died for those sins. Now it is up to you to accept His gift. Will you give your life to Christ?”
Both men’s heads turned towards the door as it squeaked open and revealed the shift nurse. Her cheeks were streaked with the tears that had fallen and she stepped towards the bed. “I want to give my life to Christ. I’ve been running for so long. Today is my last day at this hospital. I couldn’t wait to get out those doors today and start my retirement. When I started to come in and heard you talking about the Lord I couldn’t move. My mama begged me to accept Christ before she died. It was her dying wish, but I was too prideful. I’m so glad He gave me another chance to hear about Him.”
“Well, praise the Lord. It will be a pleasure to pray with you ma’am. I was just telling my grandson how I’d love to see just one more soul make a decision for Christ.”
