Why didn’t I just get up the first time my alarm clock went off…
Pray. Jenny remembered that in the rush to try and get to work on time, she has completely forgotten to pray this morning—something she usually cannot go without.
As she sat in the traffic, she brought her frenzied thoughts to a stop and began…
“Dear God,
I do not like complaining and I know I shouldn’t, but I have reached a point where I really need some encouragement and You are the only One I can turn to. I want to have joy in my life, but no matter where or to whom I turn to, I find locked doors and no hope of better outcomes. There is not even a crack in the door through which a ray of sunlight can peak at me for some hope. I feel alone.
I know I have made my fair share of mistakes in life and most of the situations I find myself in is what I have brought upon myself, but God, I know You are bigger than my mistakes. I know all the right answers, but somehow I just do not see the evidence thereof in my life. Do you hear me God? Are you still out there?
Please help me to find the key to unlock the door that will bring me into a life where I walk inside Your will, where I will have hope and joy! I know this is not the end for me, but I do not know where to go. I pray this in the Name of Jesus, Amen.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 “… My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…”
“God, was that You?”
The Bible verse has been one of her favorites, but can this be a coincidence or is it really God?
The traffic was moving again, but being late for work is becoming inevitable. She can only hope that there is nothing urgent waiting for her on her desk! A day with little interaction may be good, just so that Jenny can compose herself again. Today does not seem like a good day.
She parked and run up the stairs with the hope that no one would notice the time on the clock as she makes her appearance. As she got to her desk she stopped and dropped everything where she was standing, looking at the note lying in the middle of her desk…
“To KNOW that God is with you and that His Grace is sufficient in any circumstances is the key to unlock the door to a joyful life.”
