When I think of junk food, a number of reasons come to mind as to why one should buy it, even ingest it, regularly. (1) It is so plentiful. Few stores I frequent are remiss in stocking many, if not most, of their shelves with such. Therefore, one need never go without. It will, most likely, always be available. (2) The variety is endless. One can buy these toxic edibles in a countless array of shapes and colors from bright pink marshmallow bunnies to chartreuse green licorice twists. (3) The shelf life of this type of dead, chemically-embalmed food is extremely long, perhaps indefinite, so one need not worry about wasting food due to spoilage. (4) You’re in good company. The majority of Americans eat copious amounts of this non-nutritive food, full of saturated fat, laden with sugar and many die proving their love of it.
Ah, when I think of the value of junk food, of all the above reasons for ingesting it, I am almost tempted to join the swelling masses of America, throw good stewardship of my body and money to the wind, and go on a junk food buying spree.
