Bringing a smile to your face,
Your busy little body ready for your next adventure.
After a meal I wash off your face,
Then your hands, your face, and your hands once more.
Then I wipe the table, the chair and last the floor.
Its not even noon but already I’m knackered,
While I was busy cleaning your mess,
Already you discovered tissues, toys, and Tupperware too,
Traipsed across the living room, only wearing one shoe.
All the trouble I go through, I can’t even keep up.
I take a moment for coffee,
But you’ve beaten me to it.
When did you do it? I have not a clue.
Some days I wonder, is this all there is?
Then I’m reminded of the gifts God has given me.
No one in the world could I love more,
Than my sweet little bugger, whom I adore.
Every minute with you is a minute not wasted.
I think of the times we dance to the Wiggles,
Or your sweet surprise kisses!
My heart always melts with your hearty giggle.
Every minute with you is a minute not wasted.
Wreck, destroy and terrorize,
Lego's tossed about the floor.
The trail of tissues down the hall,
A pool of water, from who knows where?
I never thought to hear myself yell “No!”
Fifty times a day.
Then again, I never knew all that could fade away,
Forgotten just as quickly,
With the sound of your little voice,
“Mommy, up please?”
Its those tender moments in which I realize,
No matter all the trouble,
Each minute is worth it, each one precious.
A minute spent with you is a minute not wasted.
Every scrape, every bruise,
Each ouchie I kiss
A minute spent with you is a minute not wasted
As I tuck you in to bed,
Your bear and your book close at hand,
You cuddle close and with one last kiss,
We say a goodnight prayer.
And as I thank God for this day, I know:
A day spent with you, is one not wasted.

While raising a child is definitely time consuming, I felt the theme was a bit lost with all the mentions of "minute." Would have been PERFECT for this week... Don't you hate that? :)
Good job with this one. I enjoyed it.
