Three AM and finally time to sleep.
Whaaa Whaaa
Sofie cried from her crib.
Or not.
I sigh tossing the covers over to go get her. I carried her downstairs and made her a bottle. Once she was done I return her and myself to bed where I could finally claim a few hours of sleep.
I stood looking over Mrs. Peach’s dead body. I looked up over at Pete who stood only a few feet away. He was the well known vampire around here however, that doesn’t mean he was the one to kill this guest that had the unfair card dealt to be the one that had to play dead.
I had already eliminated Mr. Mustard, Ms. White, Peacock and Green. All that left was me—Ms. Scarlet and Pete—Mr. Plum. I’d returned to the hall to make another rumor.
“It was you, wasn’t it? In the hall with the…knife.” It was the only weapon I could think of that was close to fangs. Looking over at Mrs. Peach I wasn’t sure that she was only faking. I had been trying to get him to show me this one card-that he was innocent-all night and he kept it hidden from me till now.
A little girl’s giggle broke my stare with him. I looked around only to find that no but us was around. Then again I heard it.
I rolled over and saw the smiling face of my little girl.
“Morning piglet,” I said plucking her from her crib.
I made our way downstairs to change her and get her breakfast.
“No Sofie Ann! Don’t put that in your mouth!” I rushed over to remove the piece of paper from her mouth. She cried as I popped her in the mouth. She had been putting my class notes in her mouth left and right. To frustrated to study with an unstable toddler tugging on my shoulder I put the book away and picked her up to change her again.
Sighing I set her down.
“Is it nap time yet?” I said to her, but she was already half-way to the kitchen. I had told her to stay out of there and returned her to the living room a million times.
“Sofie Ann!” I said crawling after her. She squealed with joy thinking it was a game. I took her up in my arms and tickled her. I loved to hear her laugh. And though I was angry she wouldn’t stay out of the kitchen I couldn’t stay mad at that cute little face. I picked her up and set her on my hip. She wiggled around trying to get down before I set her back in the living room with her toys.
I sighed dropping to the couch. Nothing to do but relax Sofie is tucked into bed and I could finally get to bed early. I thought looking through the channels, I saw that pretty little lairs was on and left it there. I was glad for this moment to myself. With a little one and online classes on top of chores I didn’t have much time for myself. I turned off the TV when it was over and began to check my facebook. I was reading the latest updates, when I saw on Jenna’s page. “I finally finished my English assignment for tomorrow. Now off to bed” I had forgotten all about the assignment. I had meant to do it two days ago, but time had just slipped away. Being a young single mom and a student was time-consuming. I just hadn’t gotten to it like I had intended. So much for going to bed before ten, I thought oh well Sofie was worth all the late nights and long days.
Because she was the best thing in my life.
And I would put myself through all this and more, just to have her here.
“There, finally done.” I said as I saved and closed the program. Sofie’s cry rang through the baby-monitor.
“What’s wrong, huh you have a bad dream? You just wanna sleep with mommy?” I said taking her from her crib. “Yeah you just want to cuddle with mom huh.” I said as she had already drifted back to sleep on my shoulder.
The Best.

*Tid-bit Tip...Remember that "too much" of something has two "o's"...kinda like two people trying to go through a door at once, is too many! :)
