In the cover of darkness, rebels search each village and take away the children, forcing them to kill and become soldiers. The abducted are transformed into warriors, who, at night rape refugee camps, villages, and missions. They take children, food, means of transportation and especially look for young girls who become sex-slaves and 'wives' for their leaders.
Each night the plight of these children remains the same. As the shadows lengthen, thousands of innocent children flee to safety. Places like missions and schools where the hand of these rebels dare not reach. One child explains. "In the morning, we go to school, then to our village. In the evening before nightfall, we come back here to sleep."
Mother Teresa bravely spoke these words. "It is poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish."
Remember, this political and physical war targets the children. In uganda alone, two billion children have been affected by poverty, the loss of their homes and family members, child labor, slavery, sexual exploitation, aids, plagues, and painful mutations.
Thousands of Ugandans have lost their lives under this cruel regime of rebels. Under this blanket of destruction people are murdered. Churches are closed and Christians are persecuted.
A remnant of Ugandan Christians began wondering what they had done to God. They thought God had banished them from His sight. "Does the God of Uganda hates us. Has He gone to sleep? And one morning they asked their pastor. "Where is this God you preach about?"
These precious Christians entered into deep travailing prayer. By cover of darkness they hid in the jungle and in caves. All night they laid prostrate praying in the mosquito infested swamps and forests. If caught they would have been killed. Night after night they cried unto God.
God birthed a prayer movement. These intercessors have been tried and tested through the fire. They have come out as pure gold. They have emerged from the furnace of afflication with great faith and fervour. When these men and women pray they mean business.
When believers seek to lay hold of God through earnest intercession the power of God moves. Uganda got revival.
They have seen God transform their political system, the marketplace and the Church. In every walk of life, no one wants to do anything until they pray. Even the crime rate is down by 70% in some communities.
The nation of Uganda is a model for those who believe in revival. They were touched by the might hand of God. In 1999, during a New Year's Eve celebration, the President, First Lady and the people made public proclamation. They covenanted to God the land of Uganda for 1000 years for the purposes of God and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
The children in Northern Uganda remain in great peril. We know God is on the move, fighting against his emeny. For the sake of the children, I implore the people of Canada and the US to birth and avenue of prayer support for these beautiful people.

I thought that the first part of this piece was a bit disjointed: for example throwing in the mother Theresa quote was appropriate, but needed a little more context to fit into your story. To avoid this kind of trap, don't use single sentence paragraphs unless you really need to. (or you are writting speach).
That said the second part flowed much better, and in some way used the disjointed start to magnify the simplicity of the solution.
