In this crazy world today
For they’ve taken away its root
By giving Christ the boot
We can say, “Happy Holidays”
And not offend – even one
But, don’t you dare mention God
Or the birth of His virgin Son
It’s just another observation
A day off work – with pay
And now what we call, “Black Friday”
Can start as early as May
At the malls and shopping centers
There are, “Good Wishes for the Season”
But, utter, “Merry Christmas”
And they’ll say it’s an act of treason
Offensive now to many
Are the colors of red and green
And a Christmas tree is distasteful
Because they think that, it’s obscene
They’ve taken away the true meaning
As they offer us their pagan greetings
And saying the name of, “Jesus”
Leaves the ACLU lawyers seething
They’ve silenced the “Little Drummer Boy”
On the stages of all our schools
And now our children must celebrate
By obeying the Supreme Court rules
There are no songs of His birth
Sung by the carolers that stroll about
As it's now considered insulting
To those who want to leave Christ out
They’ve replaced the Nativity scenes
Where Christ once laid His head
And now snowmen fill up the spaces
With eyes of coal – by their hearts of lead
The joy once in the season
Is now a battle for what is right
And I only hope that those who believe
Will not give up the fight
For Christmas has a home
And it lives within my heart
And I welcome you to join me
To do our Godly part.
Let’s take Christmas back
And set this crazy world straight
For Christmas is God’s day
And they can’t take that away!
