As an adult, Sunday School is of critical importance to me. It is a time of Bible study, which is less formal and less structured than the pastor’s sermon, yet it is not as informal or isolated as personal Bible study.
It provides the opportunity to get to know a smaller group of people and, through interaction, discover where each is in the process of growing in Christ. It is enlightening to discover what truths the same Bible passage reveals to each member, depending on where we are in our walk with the Lord.
Sunday School is a safe place, where all come together with one focus – the prescribed Bible passage. It is an equalizer. Whether you are a seminary student or a layman, all members of a Sunday School class are like children seated at the feet of Jesus listening to the Truth being shared. You are free to make a comment, ask a question, or clarify confusion without fear of rebuke. I know of no other place in society where your voice can be heard, can have such impact, and, yet, will be received with such regard.
Sunday School has been an invaluable resource to me. I would, without hesitation, recommend it to everyone.

A good rule of thumb is not to refer to the topic of your essay in the first sentence. Find a way to "hook" your readers with something more provoking, and you're more likely to get them to want to keep reading.
Lots of truths in this little essay.
