TITLE CAN YOU PAINT LIKE HIM?
Field trips to the art museum are regular features on the school calendar. Students are given a background study and motivated to enjoy the art exhibits. Its amazing to see how some of them admire the exhibits and appreciate the beauty in each one of them. There are others who just walk by passing comments and losing the joy of admiring good creative work. We have to admit, we are all different and have likes and dislikes. God has given us eyes to see the beauty of His creation. What would this world look like without color? Each flower that blooms and each living thing that breathes are artistic creations of our Great God. The oceans, the mountains, the stars and the Universe are His handiwork too. The book of Psalms Chapter 8 and Genesis chapter 1 are some of the written proofs for the above facts.
Children scribble and draw even before they write. Parents love to see their young artists adding more details into their work as time goes on. Soon the preschooler is able to tell you stories using their drawings. The refrigerator door becomes the display board. Children show talents and giftedness as they grow and parents are encouraged to provide an enriched environment for them to blossom. Interest may be in visual arts like painting or photography , while others show talent in performing arts like music and dance. Today the opportunities are many in any area of art. One can turn to the internet to get a sea of knowledge and help the budding early bloomers to excel in their area of interest.
Every house, hotel, work place and shopping center has pieces of art used to decorate and beautify the place. The rich buy the originals while others use the reprints. The aesthetics improves so much with color coordinated artwork well displayed just where it should be. “Beauty lies in the beholder’s eye,” so all of us will not see the same lines or balance. Is this not the same with what Our God had made for us? He has painted each lily and put each star in place. He has given us this beautiful world to enjoy and live happily. Mankind has fallen into sin and lost the original beauty that He gave us. His Son came to redeem us from sin and to restore us to our Creator. Do you want to be cleansed and forgiven? Do you want to prepare yourself to meet in Heaven? We paint angels and stars on paper now but when He comes we will fly away as angels do up into the starry sky. Some famous artists have depicted the return of Jesus in the clouds on canvas. I saw one recently, oh what a glorious sight! What imagination! What creativity! I was really touched by this great work of art.
If God has given you a gift use it to magnify His name.
