Susie, a speckled spotted salamander, strutted over to Sammie, “Are you certain your surrounding are in shipshape condition? It seems that you haven’t scrubbed or swept in some time.”
Sammie snarled back, “Sorry, I’m sleepy and sluggish from shaving my sharp six-foot claws. I hadn't the strength to straighten up the studio so that it was spick and span.’
“A severe storm is expected to sweep in at sunset. Your shack seems to be in a state of disrepair. If your structure is not sturdy, you will need to seek shelter elsewhere,” scolded Susie.
“Our sanctuary is situated on a sizable stone far away from the shifting sands of the swamp,” said Susie
Susie spoke in a singsong fashion:
"We are holding a service tonight at seven:
Pastor Steve’s sermon is called, “Celebrating the Savior Who Spared Us.”
Followed shortly by the:
“Symphonic Sounds with Song” concert staring, “The Soulful Sisters: Serita, Sonja and Selina accompanied by Salvatore the Sizzling Saxophonist.
Sammie shrugged his shoulders, “I’ll see after I get some shut-eye, Susie.
Sammie’s stomach had not quite settled down from stuffing himself several weeks ago. He surmised that some extra sleep would suffice.
Sammie snuggled into a ball so his slimy algae suit would be seen by any scurrilous scoundrels.
Splish-splash…..Splish-splash…Sammie felt a splatter of rain fell against his soft fur.
Sammie was soaking wet after the rain ceased to stop. Sammy slowly descended the slippery tree to get to safety.
The sly snake noticed Sammie and successfully slithered up the slope of the trunk and swallowed Sammie whole.
Sammie was so scared he shouted, “Save me Jesus”
Nothing happened for a few seconds
Ha-Shoo…Ha-Shoo
Sammie sneezed and the snake spit him out.
The Moral of the Story: “When you snooze you lose.”
‘When you are a saved sinner there is sweet satisfaction for the soul.’
