“I thought you were a goner there for awhile, brother.”
“I…I guess…I guess I was…maybe….”
“What happened?”
“I…I don’t rightly know…”
“You seem to have been slipping away.”
“It was weird. I felt like being pushed or pulled through a long dark tunnel, sort of.”
“Whoa! Maybe you were going to the ‘other side’.”
“I never believed there was anything other than this life. But I saw it, I was there.”
“What did you see?”
“I saw this light, a bright light at the end of this tunnel. It kept getting brighter and brighter.”
“Didn’t it blind you?”
“No, interestingly I hadn’t thought of it. I was just being moved or drawn to it.”
“And then?”
“Well, there was this being. A very big, strong looking being at the end of the tunnel and he seemed to be…well, he seemed to be reaching out for me.”
“Were you scared?”
“Not really.”
“What did he look like?”
“He was dressed in all white. There was a bright light around or in back of his head. I couldn’t see his face clearly for some reason.”
“Did he touch you or anything?”
“No, just like that I was back here.”
“What is the other side like?”
“It isn’t like here. There’s nothing here to contrast it to. Nothing. I can’t find one word to describe it.”
Another conversation is taking place on the “other side”:
“Nurse, did you see that...Nurse?”
An awestruck, pale faced female responds, “I did. I’ve never seen anything like it, doctor. The baby’s head slid out, he opened his eyes, looked right at you and then popped right back into the womb.”
“Mom, you’re going to really have to push this time.”
I wonder what he thought!
1Co 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face.
2Co 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
2Co 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. (Apostle Paul speaking)
Isa 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Could it be that to try to describe what heaven looks like, if we could visit while still here on earth, would be like a baby trying to describe what it is like after birth to an infant still inside the mother’s womb?
(Scripture references are KJV)
