All mankind has heard His voice at one time or another, that thundering roar that reverberates through space and continues to echo through the heavens; holding nothing back. "So Listen up, Earthlings, Listen up!"
First, He unleashes the lightening to get our attention, then follows through with a roar and a thundering voice. However, God's voice roars in marvelous ways.
For instance, " Listen up, Snowflakes, Listen up!" He saith to the snow, "Fall on the Earth." (Job 37:6 NIV)
And the snowflakes of course obey, just as "Let there be light" obeyed it's command" earlier. And although snow is tucked away in a secret storehouse (Job 38:22 NIV), the snow heard His voice.
So they fall on the mountain tops captivating the eye of the beholder with beautiful scenic views of snow capped mountains glistening in the sun, with their stately peaks silhouetted against a wintry, blue-gray skyline.
Other snowflakes fall on and cover the naked limbs and branches of the barren trees, giving them some semblance of dignity during the leafless season of winter. And still other snowflakes will fall on the hills to give entertainment for the little ones to use their sleds, and fall on the ski slopes for the adults to wind their way down His majestic mountain sides..
Just the sound of crunchy snow beneath your feet as you walk through a meadow is a lovely sound. To see the world look clean after a snowfall gives us a whole new outlook, and makes a big difference in those cold, blase' months of winter.
How beautiful this wicked old world looks after a midnight snowfall, when the snow has fallen and covered the dirt and the dingy gutters and dumpsters, and hides the dismal looking brown leaves on the ground with white, clean, glittering snow, and gives the trees a touch of class with ice cycles dangling from their boughs to hide their nakedness.
Oh yes, God loves us, and even thinks of those little things, like snowflakes, frosty window panes and frozen ponds to skate on..
And don't forget the white, clean, purity of the snowflakes reminding us of God pleading with us in Isaiah 1:18 : to Please, "Come now, and let us reason together," He said, " and though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow."
Not a Season goes by that God doesn't give us something beautiful, comforting, and enjoyable to feast our eyes upon, even in the cold, sleet and gray skies of winter. Yes, He is so good.
"And we Thank You, dear Lord, for the Spring flowers, the Summer sun, the colorful Autumn leaves, and most of all for the lovely snow in Winter that covers up alot of our world's Boo Boo's - making it look a little more palatable under that beautiful blanket of pure, white snow that You send to earth with love."
Signed by a grateful earthling
