A day of fulfilled promises and sentimental tears.
A solemn, joyful ceremony, set to start at five,
Will sanction long held hopes and dreams, enabling them to thrive.
A multitude of clamoring claims intrude upon the day
And stifle lingering, anxious thoughts, still trying to hold sway
Until the clock tells me it’s time, Oh how can this be true?
I’m sure there’s more I should have done, I’m sure I’m not quite through.
Atremble now and hesitant, but knowing this is right,
My fleeting fears once more are quelled, my countenance is bright.
A deep breath and my first step down the aisle gives me the power
To focus on the blissful hope, surrender to the hour.
My pace obeys the rhythm of the music so sublime,
To bring me to my special place, exactly right on time;
Serene composure, peace and joy I strive to demonstrate;
Instead, emotions, running free, demand to celebrate.
Enhanced perceptions fill my heart, instilling memories;
The rich notes of the organ, played seemingly with ease,
The quite rustle of my gown, the scent of my bouquet,
The vision of rose garlands, satin bows along the way.
Every step reveals another thought, to me alone:
“So many here to share our day; dear ones, we long have known.”
“Life will never be the same for us when we are done,”
and, “How the stained glass window glows with the brilliant sun!"
Finally I focus on the one who lights my life,
The tall and strong and handsome groom awaits his precious wife.
The meeting of our eyes bring on the tears I haven’t shed;
Sweet sentiment overflowing, and loving words unsaid.
From the first, my love for him engulfed me thoroughly,
I’d be his forevermore, though life pass by us slowly.
Sharing all the joys, and just as surely, all the trials,
Together we would make the trek, fortified with smiles.
Today my smile is shaky but my love is strong and true;
Prepared to take a different trail, now one instead of two.
He’s turned to watch the other way, no longer viewing me,
His bride’s approaching down the aisle, it’s her he longs to see.
The music swells and there you are, so lovely, and so dear,
Each step you take draws him to you, your love is very clear.
True beauty shines forth from your life, revealing blessed strengths,
Assuring me to find the way, you’ll go to any lengths.
The months have shown your heart and soul, the person that you are,
So stand beside, take holy vows, I’ll watch, but from afar.
My “mother’s heart” now lets him go, releases him to you,
To build a future sweet and sure, a life designed for two.
………………………………………………………………………………
The twilight of an evening, a time to rest a spell;
A time of honest reflection and knowing all is well.
Affirming the desire of him, son of your love,
Means gaining a new daughter, what a blessing from above.

In longer poems like this one, rhymed couplets start to almost feel sing-song-ish. If you're going with quatrains, you might want to experiment with an ABAB rhyme scheme, or (better still) ABCB.
Well done!
So lucky these two to be blessed by such a mother's heart.
Enhanced perceptions fill my heart, instilling memories;
The rich notes of the organ, played seemingly with ease,
The quite rustle of my gown, the scent of my bouquet,
The vision of rose garlands, satin bows along the way.
it seems kind of wistful and light at the same time. Good job. ^_^
Hope all is well with you. I miss you!
