Now that I am grown,easter still holds some of the same memories but with one exception. I now that my redeemer lives. Christ died for me and that what makes Easter a little more special to me now.
Easter is the only time of year that people think about the Cross really. We have learn to "clean up" that image too. Even the church has gotten into it. In my old church,there were pictures of Jesus in many forms. The one that struck me the most was the picture of a lilly white Jesus,dressed in a lilly white outfit tending lilly white sheep. What a picture!
Seems like someone used "Shout It Out" and took blood stains out. My Jesus was not a clean sheppard. He was dirt. He was human like me. He also had a smell because He had to carry the smell of my filthy sins on his back.
To be fair,most of the artist depictions of Christ were commission by the church. The artist were mostly secular and didn't know any better but we christians do. Why do we continue to teach our Jesus to children? Maybe we need some "Shout It Out" to get rid of some of the filth in our lives that keep us from seeing the Truth about our Christ.
Thank God that "Shout It Out" can't take the bloodstains out of my Jesus. In those bloodstains are everything I need. My healing,my joy,my deliverance and salvation comes from His wounds.
Take time to day to thank God for the bloodstains that nothing could cleanse out. I will "Shout It Out" all over this world that Jesus lives for evermore. Happy Easter for the rest of your life until Jesus comes.
