Watching cartoons on TV.
But on Sundays, I go to my Sunday School class
And that’s true adventure, for me
In Sunday School, reading the Bible is fun.
Sometimes we learn a new song.
We play Bible games or sometimes make crafts
We learn how to tell right from wrong.
Saturday's heroes might wear capes and fly
And that’s fun to watch - I agree.
But the heroes I study in Sunday School
Relied on God’s help to be free.
I can laugh at a mouse that talks to a cat
But Sunday school teaches me truth.
The Bible has stories of champions brave
Like Samson and Moses and Ruth.
It’s fun to see Superman fly through the air
And watch Ninja Turtles at play.
But they are no match for the prophets of old,
For they trusted God every day.
Who wouldn’t like watching Bugs Bunny?
Who wouldn’t enjoy Spiderman?
But when I hear the stories of David and Job
I get to learn more of God’s plan.
The Red Sea was parted when Moses obeyed.
And I love to hear Esther’s story.
In Sunday school we get to hear these and more:
Adventures that give God the glory.
We learn about Noah and his “floating zoo”
And Daniel: so brave and so bold.
And Joseph, whose brothers were jealous of him;
I love when those stories are told.
We learn about Jesus in Sunday School,
Beginning with His humble birth.
We hear of His story and learn from His Words
And how God sent Him to the earth.
Of all of the stories in Sunday School
I love Jesus’ stories the best.
We learn of His mercy and talk of His love
And share about how we’ve been blessed.
Saturday mornings are full of fun times
And watching cartoons is such fun.
But Sunday’s adventures are lessons for life:
Where I learn to follow God’s Son.
