Psalm 86:11 "Teach me Your way, O Lord, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name."
An undivided heart! So often I fall short in this area. Because of the busyness of life, I am often literally "divided"- going in many different directions in one day. Sometimes I even use the phrase "double-booked" for when I have to be in two places at the same time. How then, when my mind and body are spread so thin, can I serve God with an undivided heart? His word says, "GIVE me an undivided heart;" I must seek this from Him. There are many things I could accomplish which He never called me to do that day, which would cause me to miss something else He had planned. The most important thing that I can do is to put God first in my day. He wants to teach me His way, so that I can walk in His truth. Only when I sit quietly before Him and open myself up to Him before my day begins will my spirit be sensitive to Him all throughout the day, allowing my heart to be undivided and turn to Him each step of the way.
MY PRAYER: O, Lord, You know all the plans I have for the day, what I need as well as want to do. Help me to remember that this is YOUR day, not mine. I pray, Lord that wherever I go, whatever I do, I will be aware of Your presence leading me. Help me to be sensitive to opportunities that You bring into my life; to keep my mind focused on You and not run after anything that is not of You. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name. Teach me Your way, that I will walk in Your truth. Amen.
