As I travel along this road.
Full of joy and pain,
Promise and mistake,
Hope and fear.
So many pages,
Marked with tears,
Still others full of joy,
A picture of my life.
And yet,
As I turn this page,
I feel it’s one I have read before,
So many times it seems.
Overcome by hardship,
The darkness of doubt,
The pain of being alone,
Unknowing and confused.
This path it seems,
I’ve wandered so many times before.
And yet,
Looking again,
I see,
Another page.
Not one of so many,
Full of colour and cheer,
Or like another,
A shining light,
Not even one,
Of darkness,
Yet with hope.
No,
this page was different,
a mystery.
It was nothing,
And yet it meant so much,
At first glance hopeless,
Yet to the one who looked again,
So full of hope.
Unknowing,
Yet not with fear,
But life.
It was an end,
And yet,
Only the beginning.
It was a blank page,
Unknown,
But it was there,
A future,
Hope.
A small picture,
That this moment won’t last forever.
I can’t see,
But I don’t need to,
It’s not my book anymore,
But His.
He is in control,
He knows,
He sees the book,
The beginning,
And the end.
I’m stuck on this page,
Again and again,
I can’t see the page ahead,
But I know that it’s there.
It’s not my book,
But yours,
Into your hands,
I place my life,
I trust in you,
My Father.
