Was like a burning ember.
Piercing deep within my limb,
As heaven’s light began to dim
It tried to take my soul,
Despair was its manic goal.
Yet God and I held strong,
He was there to walk along,
Not allowing faint or failing,
He kept Satan from assailing,
My diluted body and my heart,
As His strength He did impart
‘til I recouped my power,
He was there in every hour,
As He is to this very day,
He is my spiritual bouquet.
Rose of Sharon, he is called,
By His glory I am enthralled.
I worship Him in grateful awe,
As I obediently cherish His law,
I give Him my all my very being,
His salvation is manifestly quite freeing.
