Come sit with me on my front porch,
and have a glass of tea.
For spring in Mississippi
is a lovely sight to see.
Magnolias in their regal robes
of ivory silk take stage
and slowly in sweet southern style
unfold in grand array.
Azaleas sparkle under pines
that reach through Heaven's doors
for dogwoods tickled portals there
that opened offering more.
"More of honeyed blossoms bright
more of singing birds in flight
more of springtime's sheer delight
Come sit and drink in more."
The spell of May in Dixieland
will surely work its way
into your heart. It keeps you here.
You'll always want to stay.
