"Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives. The burden that I ask you to accept is easy; the load I give you to carry is light Matthew 11:28-30.” (NCV)
My friend Greg and I worked on a local cable TV program called “Time Out” when we were in High School. He also was involved in theater and had a part time job. It always seemed like you couldn’t depend on him.
One night when I drove him home as we sat in his driveway. He told me that he didn’t get along with his dad. I could see someone that was hurting. I felt the reason he was involved in so many things because he wanted to being around his dad.
Being busy is not necessarily a bad thing, but what is bad is when your trying of avoid a problem of having to think about something that is painful. Living like this could lead to burn out or getting into a serious accident.
We live in a sin sick world, people in this world people are going to disappoint us or even hurt us. The cool is thing is we can give the Lord all of hurts, because he knows what your going through. Jesus got along with some people and like every person there were people he didn’t get along with. He felt the pain of rejection because people turned on him. He was whipped people spat on him during the crucifixion. I don’t know what could be worse than being beaten.
When we’ve been verbally beaten up by family or friends or people have disappointed us. We can bring it to the Lord through prayer. Jesus can heal those wounds that have been caused by broken relationships. If not here today but someday in the future when were all in heaven.
If your working yourself to death to avoid pain. Just remember you can find rest in Jesus for those heavy loads.
