And then again, I may be more
There might be things that make you glad
And other things that sadden
Yet, if I hide, and clothe myself
With only what I'm sure you'll like
Not only will I hide my flaws
I'll hide my very essence
For, when all is said and done
My unsure steps, my quirky ways
Are mere settings for a flaming heart
That burns for God and you
A heart of flesh that yearns for God
And longs to join with yours
So I'll not ever try to hide
One bit of me from you
You'll see the scars, you'll see the flaws
(Perhaps you'll also see delight)
My Saviour's paid the price for me
My shame was killed at Calvary
I'll take that gift of lack of shame
And lay it at your feet, my Love
Naked and unashamed, I'll come
That you may see, through all the dross
The real me
And feel safe.
