Jane was in the bathroom when the phone rung at 10pm, she ran and picked it; Hello, James residence, Am with your husband and we are having a great time, you thought you could have him all to yourself? Well, you have failed, a lady responded from the other end
Jane could not believe her ears as tried to compose herself holding the receiver
Who is speaking? She asked
It doesn’t matter who is speaking, just pack all your belongings by tomorrow for I don’t want to see you in that house, the lady hung up before Jane could respond further
Crushed and without strength Jane tried to support herself on the table as she began wondering what on earth had happened. Her husband James had left for Mombasa two days ago, for a business conference, she tried to recollect the conversation over the phone and she was sure she never knew the lady; how she got her house address remained a mystery.
Jane had been married to James for the last five years and blessed with a lovely girl named Diana. They lived happily until recently when James started coming home late and business conferences started to rise, although it was quite unusual Jane never suspected anything was amiss considering her husband large business empire, now looking at this she began to wonder; could her husband be having an affair? No, this can’t be, he was a committed servant in the church and a teacher, she decided to call her husband through his cell phone
The cell phone rung on the other end as she waited,
Hi Jane, I told you to start packing, so you thought am joking, keep wasting time, I believe this will give you all the confirmation you need, the lady hung up again
Jane nearly fainted as the phone in her hand broke waking up her litter girl, she couldn’t believe that it was the same lady answering her husband’s phone, her fears had finally been confirmed.
Lord you remain my refuge and strength, this is the time I need you more lord, she prayed
Looking back she remembered how far they started with James, they had struggled together to make a home for themselves, God had blessed them both materially and spiritually, this must be the hand of the enemy, Am not going to surrender to his schemes, she concluded. This is my home and am not moving an inch, come what may come am going to wait for my husband, she resorted
She picked her girl and began feeding her as she sat on the sofa meditating on what transpired over the phone.
The following morning Jane woke up feeling dizzy and tired she decided to call her office for a day off, she decided to remain indoors as she waited for her husband return and what could happen. At around 2pm in the afternoon her husband’s navy blue Parejo drove into the compound, and from the passenger’s seat Jane would clearly see that he was coming home with a visitor, she kept interceding, God you are my portion in the land of the living, grant me your strength; Jane trust me; she could hear that inner voice.
She walked towards the gate and embraced her husband; Welcome home dear, how was your trip? She said
Oh we had a great time and am very tired, please welcome our guest and come inside we have something to discuss; James responded
The lady nearly knocked Jane down as she stormed into the house uninvited. Once seated in the living room, James broke the news; Jane I want you to move your things to the guest room as you can see I have a new wife, please don’t ask me questions, he said
What? My dear what have I done to deserve this? Please explain this
I have nothing to explain am tired of your nagging and complaints, please just do as I have said before I change my mind, he responded as she embraced the new lady.
Jane would not tolerate this any longer she walked away crying, and being a committed Christian she knew that her husband was under the influence of the enemy, and only prayers could change this situation.
In all this one thing was clear in Jane's mind, there was no way she could leave her home, with relationship with God she was ready to fight spiritually.
