Can't get rid of this lump in my throat. It has remained long after reading this poem. I, too, am watching the eastern sky, waiting for the trumpet sound, and longing for Him to return for me. Thank you Mariane for such a beautiful, beautiful poem. It has moved me, touched the very depth of my being, my heart and soul...and I still can't get the lump out of my throat! You are truly holding the pen of God in your earthly, human hands.
I think Marilyn really likes this poem. (smile) She sent me a link, so I could share it, too, for which I am grateful.
The most touching lines to me:
"At times I get so homesick just to see my Saviour’s face
"And how I long to thank You for Your wondrous gift of grace."
Could these be lyrics for a new worship hymn? It would be just beautiful, and so moving, I think.
