Your Miracle is in Your Hand!
When in desperate need or critical situations, most of us often look outside for help and solutions, we hardly look inwards. Even when we approach God for divine intervention, there’s still that tendency in many of us to expect help and answers from outside. However, God’s way is not man’s way! Anytime God wants to intervene or work in a man’s life, whether for provision, deliverance, miracles or divine assignment, He usually works through what that man already has, He usually begins His works right from within the man. That’s the way God works!
Most of us are usually very quick to say “I have nothing”, “The situation looks hopeless, everything is empty”, “Everything is over”. Unfortunately, that’s the picture the devil wants you to see always; he will always want you to be totally blind to the solution and answer that is right under your nose. But the devil is a blatant liar! The truth he will always want to hide from you is that, it doesn’t matter how bad the situation may be, there’s always something in your hand that God can use to turn your life and situation around.
Look Inwards
Your Breakthrough begins from looking inwards. What it takes to birth your miracle is already in your hands only if you can see it. There’s always something in your hands that God can work through to take you to your next levels!
What do you have in your hands?
Moses had a Shepherd’s Rod (Exodus 4:1-5, 20): When Moses was called and commissioned into the divine assignment, there’s nowhere in the bible that suggests God gave him any rod of authority for the signs, wonders and miracles he performed in Egypt. God simply worked through the shepherd’s rod Moses had always had in his hands. It was the same ordinary shepherd’s rod Moses had before God called him that God worked through to do signs and wonders.
It’s noteworthy that after God’s divine power had taken over Moses’ rod, the rod was later referred to as ‘the rod of God’! It’s amazing how God can take over ordinary things and make them extra ordinary! It’s really a mystery how God can take over mere mortals and make them supernatural in power and glory! It’s not about the size of what you have, it’s about the size of the Almighty God who has His hands upon you!
David had a Sling (1Sam 17:38-40): Standing face to face with Goliath, David had no weapon, no sword, no spear, no gun, no arrow, no shield, no helmet, he was not even a trained soldier. However, it was the same sling he had always held as a shepherd boy that God used to bring down the giant.
You remember that David had no weapon of any sort, which was why Saul attempted to ‘equip’ and ‘fortify’ him in the ideal way a soldier should be equipped. But that’s not the way God works. No one can ever win battles of life with another man’s weapons; you’ve got to discover your own weapon no matter how simple it may look.
That thing in your hand that looks so ordinary; that idea in your mind that looks so common; that skill you’ve got but hardly consider it relevant, those things are the same weapons God will work through to turn your life and destiny around. Whatever God puts His grace upon, no matter how common it is, automatically becomes a great and effective weapon of mass destruction against the enemies. Again, it’s not about how sophisticated the ‘weapon’ is, it’s about who is holding it!
Samson had jaw bone of an ass (Judges 15:14-15): Trapped in the midst of the enemies, Samson needed a weapon to fight the Philistines in order to be free. Looking around, he got nothing close to an ‘ideal weapon’ – no spear, no arrow, no sword, the only thing he could lay his hand upon was a jawbone of an ass. That was enough! With the jawbone of an ass, Samson confronted, fought and killed thousands upon thousands of his enemies!
When the Spirit of God is upon a man’s life, whatever that man holds in his hands transforms from ordinary to extra ordinary, from natural to supernatural, from common to uncommon! Once again, it’s not about the size of what you’ve got in your hands, it’s about the size of the Almighty God working from inside of you!
The widow had a jar of oil (2Kings 4:1-7): The widow was in a complete mess! Her late husband left no savings but debt that was so huge to the extent that the creditor had initiated the move to take over her two children to offset the loan. The widow came crying to Elisha for help. Her expectation probably was to get some money to pay off the debt, but that’s not the way God works. Elisha asked her ‘what do you have in your house?’ Straightway came the familiar statement “I have nothing…” However, the widow suddenly remembered she had a bottle of oil, but this obviously meant nothing to her considering the need at hand.
Elisha knew the way of God, that it’s what a man has in his hands that God would ill use to turn his situation around. The help that the widow needed desperately didn’t come from abroad or from one deep pocketed, wealthy individual in the community where she lived, it was the little jar of oil that the Almighty worked through to turn her life and finances around. Hear this again, it’s not about the size of what you have in your hands, it’s all about if God places His hands on it!
Put Your Little in Jesus’ Hands
There came a time in the ministry of Jesus that more than five thousand (5,000) people in a single meeting needed to be fed. Jesus knew exactly the way God works and how the situation would be handled. However, to make a clear statement, He asked the disciples how they intended to get food for the great crowd: Philip said it would take about two years’ wages to get just little bread for everyone! In that dry and lonely desert place, the only thing they could lay hands on was a little boy’s launch of five loaves of bread and two fish, but they could never figure out how this would meet the huge need at hand. Jesus knew the way of God; He simply requested they bring the five loaves and two fish into his hands.
Jesus didn’t ask the disciples to go share the bread and fish, but requested them to bring them into His own hands. Nothing multiplies until it’s placed in the hands of Jesus! Having lifted up His eyes to heaven and offered thanks, the bread and fish were no longer ordinary but blessed. Anything that’s blessed by Christ must increase and multiply. You don’t have to possess so much, when your little is blessed by Christ, you will lack nothing!
Many people usually miss their miracles and blessings because they look down on little things. 2King 5:1-3; It is a very great folly to despise little things, for it is usually God’s way to begin His great works with small things. The solution doesn’t have to be as big as the problem, small keys open mighty doors! The things that are despised are usually what God uses to deliver miracles and breakthrough to His children. 1Cor 1:27-28;
Are you faced with some serious challenges and you’ve concluded there’s no way you can make it? Have you been in search of solution and answer to some serious situation you find yourself? The beginning of breakthrough is to realize that there is something in your hands that God can use to turn your situation around. Never believe the devil’s lie that you have nothing. God is still in the business of performing miracles and doing wonders, there’s something in your hand that He can use to kick-start your breakthrough - Your miracle is in your hands!
Shalom!
