The basic question asked by atheists and others who reject God is, "If there is a loving God, why does He allow so much evil, injustice, and sickness in the world?" There are many theological explanations and secular reasons given, but the time is coming when God will deal with evil, injustice, suffering, and sickness.
It all started in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve.This is the biblical explantion of how it all began. Maybe you don't belive in this and think that it just a myth or a fairy tale. Well then, I ask, how do you explain the origin of sin and suffering? Adam and Eve were created in a perfect environment but with a free will to choose their actions. They were given latitude to eat from any tree in the garden except one. They chose the one thing that God said they should not do (Genesis 3:1-6). They chose to violate God's commands and to rebel. Thus, sin entered the world and has been passed down from generation to generation ever since. Sin is separation and rebellion against God, but it manifests itself in many forms of attitudes, motives, and actions.
Things got worse very rapidly. A case of domestic violence and murder was recorded in Genesis 4:5-8. Further in Genesis it is stated that the world became very corrupt with evil continually (6:11-13). God sent judgment upon the world in the form of a flood. The only people spared were Noah and his family. God started over again to give mankind another chance. This time instead of spreading out over the earth, people congregated at the city of Babel. They built a tower out of defiance and arrogance toward God. Once again God intervened and stopped them dead in their tracks by confusing their languages "so that they could not understand one another's speech" (Genesis 11:1-9). Here is the origin of languages and nations!
Several more thousands of years passed and humanity still wasn't getting it right. So, as recorded in the Gospels of the New Testament, Jesus, God's Son in human flesh, was supernaturally conceived in the womb of a young teenage girl named Mary. He came to not only show humanity how to live righteously but to die for the sins of each and every person and to rise from the dead. God made it possible to come to him by faith through the gift of grace, apart from being religious or having to earn salvation. That was over 2,000 years ago. The human race, once again, has chosen to rebel against God and sought to live life without acknowledging Him as the creator and savior of one's soul.
We are now at the time in human history where, once again, things have become progressively worse. Things have reached the point where God is, as before, going to judge the world. A great 7-year Tribulation Period is coming soon. In fact, what we see now in our culture is all leadig up to this time. All the current conditions of this world are too numerous to mention here, but they have all been prophesied in the Bible. Matthew 24:21 describes this as a time of "great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall." Daniel 12:1 says it wil be "a time of distress, such as never occurred since there was a nation..." Much of the Book of Revelation as well as other passages of scripture go into great detail of what to expect. The purpose of the Tribulation Period will be to judge the world and bring consequences to those who have chosen to reject God, as they are without excuse, as explained in Romans 1:18-32. However, it will also be a last chance to come to the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
After the world is purged of its sinfulness, evil, and injustice, Revelation 20:2-7 talks about a 1,000 reign of Christ upon the earth. During this span of history, satan and deception will be bound.
Christians will reign with Christ! Jerusalem will be the capitol of the world (Zechariah 14:16). There will be peace and justice, and God will rule his Kingdom in righteousness (II Peter 3:13).
The ultimate destination for all who have put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will be heaven. Heaven is described in Revelation 21-22 as a beautiful place made of gold and precious stones, with no need of the sun or moon, because "the glory of God has illumined it" (21:23). It is a place free of physical and emotional pain. God will "wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall no longer be any death...mourning, or crying, or pain..."(21:4). It will be like the Garden of Eden, a perfect enviroment, with a river and tree of life (Genesis 2:9-10 and Revelation 22:1-2).
Would you like to go to place of perfect righteousness and peace, with no more pain or suffering, and not even any more death? You can. Call upon God's grace today. It is a free gift. I John 5:11-13 tells us, "And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life."
"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
