You go to a funeral and the attending "priest" is a robot. China has introduced a Buddhist robot that conducts funerals and "prays" to the dead. This is just one of many things that are happening with artificial intelligence, with the chief goal of making AI into a religion and a god to be worshiped.
Another headline reads, "Ex-google Executive Registers First Church of AI With IRS." A former google executive has established a new "religion" that worships AI. It is called the "Way of the Future," with the goal of creating a godhead.
If this isn't enough, a new video game called "Godhead" is going to be released in 2019. Players will be able to choose their own religion and become their own god. Wikipedia says, "Games now involve moral decisions, rely on invented religions, and allow users to create and experience virtual religious spaces..."
It doesn't stop here. Artificial intelligence has a goal of replacing a God consciousness. A London-based technology blogger made the statement, "...if we ourselves can create an artificial soul in silicon matter, the concept of a divine spark in our soul will give way to evolutionary Darwinism once and for all. It will be exactly the answer to the consciousness quest that will end the centuries-old debate on the existence of God" ("Future - Transhumanist: AI Will Destroy God," TruNews, August 6, 2018).
Elon Musk, SpaceX and Tesla CEO, went so far as to say that the development of artificial intelligence is like "summoning the demon!"
Not only is AI being made into a religion that is dangerous and pagan, but it is part of a developing global network taking on so-called attributes of God - a one-world network where everyone together can potentially become as powerful as God. (YouTube video:"Superpowers Battle For Technological Supremacy As God-Like Digital Omnipotence Changes Society").
The above-referenced article goes on to say that humans will be connected to all digital devices constantly, all day long. The whole scenario has been described as a "world without borders" (sound familiar?) with digital passports. Think about that. The human race connected to electronic devices controlled by artificial intelligence has the potential of controlling each and every person, and will become a "god" to be worshiped. This ties in with what is taught in Revelation 13.
There is coming a time when everyone on earth will be under the control of a worldwide system to the point of not being able to buy or sell unless there is a "mark on their forehead or on their right hand" (vs. 16-18). There is much debate as to what this "mark" is. However, the main point of it is that it will represent allegiance and control.
There will also be no place to hide. The Chinese are developing a facial recognition system. Two Chinese tech companies that focus on AI, reportedly already have 150 million cameras in place, with 400 million yet to come! Recently, a BBC journalist was found in a crowd of 60,000 people. "No matter where you go, what you do, or how you try to hide, you are soon likely to be scanned, recognized, and tracked by AI systems, for control and profit." (This information was taken from an article entitled, "You Can Run, But You Cannot Hide Fom AI").
Revelation 13 talks about some individual, commonly thought of as the anti-Christ, having "authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation..." The chapter emphasizes worship, which is referred to five times. As we have seen, control and worship are two basic elements of artificial intelligence. This chapter also connects these two factors with having the mark mentioned earlier on a person's right hand or forehead. Some scholars believe this to be a literal implanted microchip. If this is so, it would make it possible to have connectivity between humans and digital devices! Some companies have already chipped their employees, making it possible for them to buy food out of vending machines, among other things, simply by waving their hands.
Technology and artifical intelligence, along with global control, all appear to be moving in the direction of Revelation 13.
To further add to the connection between artificial intelligence and Bible prohecy is what I will call the "Tower of Babel attitude." The development of AI is arguably the pinnacle of our present day advancement in knowledge. The same was probably true at the time of the Tower of Babel. In Genesis 11:4-6 we read, "...let us make for ourselves a name, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth...And the Lord said, 'Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them'."
There is a parallel for today. The world is globally coming together with the "same language" of artificial intelligence. It is doing so with the attitude of "let us make for ourselves a name" with no acknowledgement of God.
It is very dangerous the way this whole scenario is playing out. It is almost begging for the judgment of God. Well, judgment is coming, just as it did in response to the Tower of Babel. Humanity is soon to find out who really is in charge! Psalm 115:3 says, "But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases."
Decide now to submit your life to the true God of creation and the universe, not to a man-made "god" of artificial intelligence. As AI is rapidly advancing, so are the prophecies of the last days before the judgment of God and the return of Jesus Christ. Put your faith and worship in Christ, who died for your sins and rose from the dead that you may have eternal life in heaven, not based upon religion or works, but on his grace.
