Prayers
Dear Jesus,
“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many? (John 6:9)”
This verse really speaks to me. Who is this boy? No one refers to him by name. He seems to be minding his own business, roaming around with some food.
Suddenly, you used the meager possessions he brought with him that day, Jesus, as one of your miracles. This child was willing to give up the small amount he had. That may have been all he had to eat for the next week. He certainly did not know that his pittance would feed 5000 men.
You took a nameless boy, a small amount of possessions and his willingness to serve and used it for God’s will. If you can do that, why do I resist when you ask something of me? Why do I resist every trial, large or small, that you give me? You want “willing servants” to perform your miracles through, whether it is in Biblical days or 2013.
Help me Jesus to be more like that small trusting boy with each passing day. Help me to be your willing servant, not knowing the path you have for me, but trusting you to lead me. Let your will be done.
Love,
Marla
