In the postmodern age of Christianity, people from the church house to the White House are using Jesus’ name to promote everything but salvation. For example, televangelists flood the airwaves regularly with their “send your money to me and Jesus will bless you” propaganda. They state that if you do send them your money God will give you double to triple favor, which means monetary blessings beyond anything that you could ever imagine. Of course, as is evident, more emphasis is placed on sending them money than accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior, and Soon Coming King. As a result, the public relations of these ministers stretches the truths contained in the Holy Bible, which is the inspired Word of God. In fact, they could very well be violating the scriptures found in Deuteronomy 4:2 and Revelations 22: 18-19. Deuteronomy 4:2 reads, “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.” Also, in Revelations 22:18-19, it reads,
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Therefore, as is indicative of these scriptures, God abhors any human who attempts to use His Holy Word as a method to gain lucrative wealth or to gain any other advantage over people by adding to or taking away from God’s Word. But, unfortunately, President Obama and the White House has jumped on the same bandwagon that uses Jesus’ name as a method to gain support for his extremely liberal agenda.
In a recent Newsmax, several quotes by President Obama confirm his belief that Jesus would support his economically-sound, socialistic agenda to require wealthy Americans to pay for percentage in taxes than the middle class and the lower class. He also believes Jesus would support his foreign policy. Of course, President Obama said that he based much of what he said on his Christian values, specifically the Biblical scriptures found in Luke 12: 48. It reads, “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” As a result, President Obama believes that Luke 12: 48 solidifies his current efforts to mandate higher tax percentages for the rich. But, according to David Barton of WallBuilders,
The current income tax structure in the United States mandates a higher tax rate or percentage the more a person makes. This tax system is contradicted by scripture, especially Exodus 30:11-15, which provided a “half a shekel” tax for everyone numbered. Verse 15 states: “The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel.”
Ultimately, as is indicative of Exodus 30: 11-15, a fair and just God does not require the rich to pay higher percentages of their revenue to the government in taxation. Also, according to David Barton, “In addition, the Biblical Tithe is not applied progressively, rather it is applied equally to everyone (‘And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's. It is holy to the Lord. . . .And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord.’ Leviticus 27:30,32).” Therefore, if a fair and just God requires a ten percent tithe, the United States government should do the same. Then, all Americans would have the initiative to work and to actually earn the money to sustain themselves and their families. But, at the same time, the federal government would have less money to give away to those who seek “something for nothing,” which is the essence of socialism and its tenet of the redistribution of wealth. Of course, Jesus Christ would not back a program that would take a large percentage of the earnings of hard working Americans and give them to those who made bad economic decisions. In fact, based on the story of the talents in the Bible, found in Matthew 25: 14-29, the person who made a bad economic decision would give what he had to the person who made a wise economic decision. As written in Matthew 25,
14For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
Therefore, it is obvious that Matthew 25:14-29 would refute President Obama’s premise for a higher percentage of taxation for the rich and a lower percentage for the poor.
However, as far as President Obama’s foreign policy is concerned, he bases it on his Christian faith, too. He said, “It’s not just about strengthening alliances or promoting democratic values or projecting American leadership around the world, although it does all those things and it will make us safer and more secure.” But, there are better ways to make America safer than strengthening alliances with mostly communistic or socialistic nations, since they do not accept the idea of democratic values and their leaders are mostly atheistic. America would be much safer if its leaders who claim to be Christian would live by the dictates of the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. Therefore, the federal government should be more concerned about protecting the borders of the United States from invasion by illegal immigrants. It is unconstitutional and ungodly for the federal government to send U.S. troops overseas to fight rebels in other nations when it refuses to defend its own borders. As stated in I Timothy 5: 8, “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” Of course, as everyone knows, the federal government for too many years has permitted foreign invaders to destroy the property of Americans and to murder Americans while it sends needed border troops overseas to defend people who are not of America’s house. Hence, based on I Timothy 5: 8, the government has denied the faith of the Founding Fathers and faith in the Lord God Jehovah and, as a result, it is “worse than an infidel.”
Finally, concerning President Obama’s religious beliefs and the role they play in his political decisions, he said, “We can't leave our values at the door. If we leave our values at the door, we abandon much of the moral glue that has held our nation together for centuries and allowed us to become somewhat more perfect a union.” But, what is a Christian value? A Christian value is based on the dictates of Jesus Christ as outlined in the Holy Bible. Unfortunately, though, it appears that President Obama has left his Christian values at the front door of the White House when he took office in 2009, since the glue that has held America together as a nation is losing its hold and since the nation that he swore to defend is crumbling right around him. As a result, the major Christian values of the sanctity of life and the marriage of one man to one woman, that made America the great nation that it used to be, have been demoralized and demeaned by the current administration in Washington, D.C. Therefore, since actions speak louder than words, President Obama should go back to the front door of the White House and reintroduce himself to his Christian values and use them to guide him as he renounces the pro-abortion and pro-homosexual activists in America, just like God and Jesus would definitely renounce. Then, and only then, he could say the words “God Bless America” after his speeches and actually expect God to bless America.
In conclusion, it is a good public relations’ move by President Obama to attempt to get all 80 to 90 percent of Americans who profess to be Christians to jump aboard his political bandwagon by purporting the Jesus would back his Democratic agenda. However, the reins of the governmental horses have been dropped by the driver of the current political bandwagon, President Obama As a result, the wagon is running dangerously over the countryside. The only hope is for someone to jump on the back of the lead horse and stop the horse and wagon from being destroyed. Ultimately, since the driver of the wagon has been dazed by the rough ride, he would need someone to stop the lead horse for him. The person best prepared to stop the lead horse and save the driver and wagon from complete destruction would be someone outside the wagon who had absolutely nothing to do with the original driver. That job would fall on the shoulders of one of the people who lived along the road where the horse and wagon were running wild. Therefore, when the driver saw any person along the roadside, he would naturally call out for help. Needless to say, the driver would expect someone to come to his rescue. But, since all the people in the nearby community knew the real reason why the horse and wagon were in such disarray, they chose not to back the driver in his efforts to stop it, since it was the driver’s fault. The is the reason that True Christians, who know the truths of the Bible, would not back President Obama is his efforts to create an even more unjust tax system in America. Of course, Jesus Christ would not back any political leader who uses His Holy Name for political gain, instead of calling the nation to prayer and advocating the salvation of all Americans through the Cross of Calvary and Him Crucified.
