Friends are a wonderful blessing, indeed
Cultivating joy, planting precious seed
Comforting the heart, bringing pure delight
Dispelling gloom, shining rays in the night
Special friends, a rare species to treasure
Valuable, worth beyond ability to measure
Embracing hearts, pushing depression aside
Remaining, never receding like ocean tide
This is dedicated to those you and I call "special friends." I do not write with polish or professional style, just from the heart. As a Southerner, I write the way I feel. And to those of you who are my friends, I hope the words of this little poem express that feeling. Value those who are your friends. One day they may need you to comfort them, and they may even be the ones who comfort you. God bless.

I like it. I hope we can all have an opportunity in life to say such nice things about another
This was beautiful! You can see the heart of a true friend in your poetry. We are blessed that you shared it!
that was really beautiful
What can I say! I feel very special to be part of your friendship circle. I am blessed each time you share the love of God that dwells inside of you. You are a wonderful example of a true disciple and that makes me proud to call you friend. I love you and I pray that you will keep writing for His glory until He says its time to put down your pen! LOVE can never deceive and the love of God certainly shines from you. I see Jesus in you each time we connect. Remain in His love and His Joy will remain in you and your joy will be full (see St. John 15) God bless you and have a wonderful weekend. Janice
Thanks Thomas. I count myself in with your special friends. I've "known" you and Mary for a long time now. Don't remember when we met, but we shared things on our websites; we've written back and forth; we've even talked on the telephone. And when we get to Glory, even though we've never seen each other's actual faces, we shall know each other immediately. I'm looking forward to that...Helen
I agree with Jeanne, i very much enjoy your writing and especially if what is said glorifies the Lord. Friends are very important and i hope i have been a good one to mine !
I haven't writ you much but I've read your writins alot. You say you aren't polished or professional. Dear friend, we ALL ain't polished or professional. That's why we're here! Special friends get together and by editing each other, they smooth out the rough edges. We haven't arrived yet...but we're making friends along the way and smoothing out the wrinkles. Another thing: we are all unique writers, with unique writing styles. It would be pretty darn boring to read the same style of writing in each submission. You're you, Thomas, with your Southern style. Welcome, and add that southern flare to this group. I'm adding my blend of Northeastern-southern spiel. Plus I'm from the old generation...getting too close to that big seven oh. Write on, young man, and bless us with your gift. We need you. Shalom
Those I can call "friend" are treasured in my heart and it is always my prayer that in return they can call me "friend" as well. Your writing, Thomas, is so obviously written from your heart where the Lord dwells - so it is good. Period. Blessings! I have enjoyed our time of intersection and missed you when you were gone. So glad you're back :) Jody
Thomas, this is very nice and so true. From what I gather you are a friend to many and have many friends also who care about you and admire your work besides being blessed by it.I don't know you personally, but you are my brother in Christ. I always want to be a help to others and never a hindrance. We are always under a magnifying glass and I hope people will always see Jesus before seeing the outward covering we wear.Great piece!
