I am deeply troubled in spirit and at heart because my mom who has been suffering from osteoarthritis for years is weakening by the day in her ability to walk or stand. Of late, she has been falling down regularly, and in her old age, this is not good at all. My siblings and I are now in discussion as to the best course of action.
Some years ago, my mom had already gone through joint replacement for both her knees. Now with her worsening condition, not many options are opened apart from further surgery which offers no guaranteed recovery. Advice from various doctors and specialists does not help at all because of the many differing views, which vary from living with it to taking drastic measures.
What hurts me most is her non-receptivity to the Christian faith. I'm praying and continuing to pray for a breakthrough.
O God, have mercy upon my mom and my siblings for they have all yet to receive You! Grant an opening Lord! Soften their spirits and hearts Lord to make them see beyond the physical to search for answers that can only be found in You alone.

This is very heart-wrenching, Edmond. You needed to share this with your FW friends. You need prayer partners for your family. God hears and answers prayers...God will not let your mother die without her coming to Him for salvation...Please, every one who reads this, please pray for Edmond's family, and especially for his mom, who is so ill...God's blessings...Helen
This is touching. I just said a prayer for you and your family. As a mother, I know how proud I am of each of my children's achievements. Have you ever given your mom your challenge entries to read? Maybe as a special gift, you could take some photographs, and a few of your favorite stories and bind them into an album at Wal-Mart or some other place. I hope you will find an answer to your prayer.
