Devotionals
We will be thankful to the Lord our God forever for the blessed parents He gave us, all the love and caring we have received and the great troubles they have gone through to make our life easy and comfortable, yet even where they would desire to, there are certain times and areas where they are helpless and thus cannot support us...read the statement below.....
"We know he is our son," the parents answered, "and we know he was born blind. But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don't know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself."
John 9:20-21 (NIV)
This is the confession of a parent of a grown up child, who was blind from birth and probably the parents tried to provide him with the best they could, however could never make him see.
Jesus healed him and he could see.
We always need the love and support of our blessed near and dear ones, yet we should also be aware of their limitation and frailties, we need someone more than a loved one, we need a Savior and He is Jesus Christ alone.
The best thing about Jesus Christ is that even though being all powerful, all providing, He does not remain just a machine to provide for us when in need, He becomes our best Friend, not because of His extensive power to do great and wondrous acts for us, rather because of Who He is, and this part cannot be merely explained in words, it has to be personally experienced.
God Himself said through His servant....
"Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him."
Psalm 34:8 (NIV)
To really know and understand the goodness of the Lord, we have to experience Him in our life, through our prayer life and devotion and we have to entrust our complete faith and trust in Him.
The father in the above passage said what he knows and has seen, however God knows us from the beginning and unto eternity.
My attempt today is to make us realize the limitation of earthly relationships and to know that they are finite and thus if we only hope and trust in them, we may have to regret when that relationship finds itself chained by its own limitations, we need a Savior, we need Jesus Christ and through Him we will have hope for eternity and we will be a source of encouragement even to others who falsely solely believe and trust in the mortal flesh and need to know and have a loving relationship with God.
We really miss our parents at various times and so do they, however let's seek the Lord always, Who is always close to us and desires to bless us always.
We will never miss the Lord; however let Him not miss us either.
God Bless,
Abraham
