My life began in Tylertown, MS, a small spot on Hwy 98. #8 of 9 children, I spent a great deal of time finding who I was, who I belonged to, and where I was going. Married at 18 and beginning motherhood at age 19, life certainly threw me a curve ball or two. However, a quick review of my writing influences include working for two small newspapers, doing paste-up in the day, writing columns, and putting things together for print. After my salvation in 1983, all of my attentions were thrust onto "more of Jesus" and I began writing poetry almost daily. On the week of January 20th, 1985 I wrote a poem entitled, Camouflage in Heaven. My husband and brother died in a hunting/boating accident that same week. Life became fast and furious rearing three sons and learning as much as possible about baseball, football, and puberty! I wrote very little during those turbulent years. From Christian schools to homeschooling, I "faithed" my way to grown adult children and have now returned to my passionate self. Art, painting, writing, and studying all about every aspect of my eternal destiny, I now have the time to focus on the beat of my heart....Jesus. It is my desire to produce writing and art that depicts love, grace, and mercy that defies all logic. May my hands lead to a softer, lovelier place than where I began. My best to you, Kay
