To know the will of God for my life
Where do I fit in?
How will you use me?
I gave up pretending that I understood Your ways
Where you want me, when you want me there, what you want me to do
Just tell me Lord
Quite a common thought I would think
“Just tell me Lord.”
Why is it I hear you say, “I’ve already told you.”
Perhaps it is the little things that pass us everyday
The co-worker that needs a word of encouragement
Or the friend that needs help to bring in the groceries
Maybe it is the little things that you want us to master first
To practice shining your light with the little things
Before running out to tackle the big ones
We are in such a hurry to finish the race, we forget to run the race
The race doesn’t start with an ending to a marathon
It starts with a step. A step guided by you
I know you are there, I can feel your touch
Yet, I feel so insufficient to do even the smallest task
And You remind me once again, that your grace is sufficient
Sufficient to cover all my uncharitable words
Sufficient to cover all my selfish actions
Sufficient to cover all my terrible thoughts
How can I complete the big tasks?
I can’t even complete the little ones
Your grace is sufficient
Help my unbelief Lord
Guide my stumbling feet
Relieve my fear of failure
I know in my heart
That you do not call us to be successful
Just faithful
For it is Your power
The Blood of Your Son and the Holy Spirit
That makes the difference
They change the hardest hearts
Bringing tears of repentance
And ultimately bring the lost to you
So please help me to find your will for me
And the joy of completing just the little tasks
That you have already called me to do
