TITLE: My uncle By William Hynd 03/22/09 |
|
The days my uncle took me to church
We didn't go in
He smoked at the door.
Until it began.
We sat at the back, he didn't sing.
The pastor talked of original sin
While uncle's feet scraped the floor.
He wouldn't sit still, he shuffled about.
Coffee? no sir, this kid's to go home.
But I admired him so much and I had no doubt.
My uncle loves God I wanted to shout.
