TITLE: Fight Or Die By Johnna Rollins 09/19/08 |
|
The trumpet sounds the battle cry
the leader marches forth
his troops in mighty armor clad
just stand behind and watch.
He turns around and beckons them
"come forth, the victory's ours"
but they just stay and look at him,
"It's really not our cause"
"We'll stay and pray as you go forth,
we need not take up arms.
It's nice and safe just resting here
besides, there's not much harm"
And so the battle rages forth
the enemy circles round.
The soldiers that are resting there
believe they're safe and sound.
And as the foe comes into camp
the soldiers rise from sleep,
their apathy and ignorance
have cost them their defeat.
And still sounds out the trumpet blast
the leader calling forth
"Rise up rise up my chosen ones
come heed the battle cry.
Take up your arms and follow me.
Come fight or you will die."
