His wounds have paid my ransom,
His blood was shed for me,
He gave His life for all of us,
On that old rugged tree,
He bore many scars for us,
He was beaten, He was bruised,
He took the torture and the pain,
So our lives we wouldn’t lose.
He took the very keys of hell,
Saved us from a life of sin,
And if we call upon His name,
Satan will never win,
Now we don’t have to live the same,
As we lived before,
He has given us new life,
Only He opened the door.
For all that He’s given us,
For all He’s sacrificed,
We owe Him our eternal thanks,
And our very lives,
For all that He’s done for us,
Grace, mercy, and peace,
We should forever praise His name,
For He’s the greatest among the least.
We are only servants,
Made to serve and praise,
And to witness only for Him,
Who rose from the grave,
We are also all God’s children,
We are heirs with Jesus Christ,
So we’ll inherit part of His portion,
Along with eternal life.
He is our example,
Of how to serve and give,
We should read about Jesus,
And like Him we should live,
We should also be an example,
To all those who don’t know,
We should tell of His love and sacrifice,
So to Him they will go.
In Him I see life anew,
Only in Him do I see real love,
Through Him we’ve gained eternal life,
In heaven up above,
Through Him we have the victory,
And for Him we’ll shine a light,
A light for all the world to see,
That’s always shining bright.
