TITLE: Lizzie's messy room By Kristina LeCroy 02/18/08 |
|
In a little white house
At the end of a street
Lived a cute little girl
Who didn’t like to be neat.
Inside Lizzie’s house was a mess
And her room was the worst
Everything was on the floor
Toys, books, shoes, a purse
One Monday at breakfast
Lizzie’s mom had enough
“I’m giving you three days
Or Thursday I’m donating the stuff”
Three days to clean
What would Lizzie do?
Well, Monday she played games
After all, that left two
But Tuesday and Wednesday
Were exactly the same
All she did was get up
And play with her games
Wednesday night at church
Lizzie listened to her lesson
About taking care of your things,
All of God’s blessings
“There was a master leaving
And 3 workers who would stay
He gave them each money to keep
While he was away
“The 1st and 2nd workers
Made more money for their boss.
But the 3rd buried his,
He didn’t want to have a loss.
“When the master returned
With the first two he was pleased.
He gave them more money
For doing such good deeds.
“But the 3rd worker did not please him,
By burying his money in the sand.
He would not give more to the worker
Since he did not take care of what he had.”
Lizzie thought on the way home
“Is that 3rd worker me?
I don’t take care of what I have,
But I can CHANGE how I will be.”
As soon as they got to the house
On the end of the street
Her mom said “you have ‘til 7:30
To get your bedroom all neat."
Lizzie jumped right to work
And put everything where it should be
Then sent up a prayer to God
“Please don’t let the bad worker be me.”
Now in a little white house
At the end of the street
Lives a little girl Lizzie
Who is ever so neat!
