Yesterday is gone now, and we must only use today;
Please, help us learn to let go, Lord, and let You lead the way.
Holding on to the past, sometimes brings us only sadness;
For some -who clutch it tightly - it brings them only madness
And since tomorrow is a day that is out of our hands;
Why waste today concerned about some possible demands?
Fear of what might be tomorrow, or grief o'er yesterday,
Can only serve to waste the time God gave us for today.
Yes, learn from yesterday, and have high hopes for tomorrow;
But from the past and the future, we should never borrow.
Today is meant to be special, it comes only one time,
Each day's a God-given gift with its own divine design.
Our days are like stepping stones leading us up to glory;
Mansions await those who heard, and then believed the story.
We must never let our eyes look back at old yesterday,
For if we look away too long, we might just go astray.
By looking way ahead, instead of looking at each stone;
One day we may look up and find we're walking all alone.
Let's ask the Lord, for just enough Grace, to meet the needs of the day;
And then, when tomorrow comes, He'll be there to lead the way.
