The Lord’s Table
As often as I will,
Let all be quiet and still,
In remembrance of my Lord
And According to His word
I come to his table.
And as I search my heart
And bid all sin depart.
I proclaim that this was done
By Christ God’s one true son
For no one else was able.
His body broken dead
Seen in this piece of bread
Is taken now by me
To tell to all who see
That I may now be whole
Now cleansed by blood divine
I take this cup of wine
In token of his love
Sent from heaven above
To purify my soul.
Without my Saviour’s cross
My soul must suffer loss
But now he gives me power
To live for him each hour
Before his Father’s throne.
Oh what a joy is mine
That I by power divine
May offer words of praise
As heart and hands I raise
To him whose grace I own.
