TITLE: To Win The Love of God By Michelle Roufley 12/18/07 |
|
From my hand O Lord
I reach to touch your face
It is stretching out to thee,
longing for your grace.
I try and try and try so much
what can I do I pray
I do good deeds, I go to church,
I must be on my way
I pay my bills and live my life
with responsibility
I give my time and my dime
to help a charity
What then is there Lord
in this world that I can do
To earn your love and favor
and walk alongside of You.
You are my child, my creation,
and my friend says He
You can look and reach and search
for all eternity,
You will never find me
in a mountain or the sky,
You can never reach me,
so you may as well not try.
For I am always with you,
way down deep inside
I am your Father and Creator
and it’s for you that I have died
It is not what you do, or how you try,
that I will find and bless
It’s your heart I want, it’s made for Me
and I’ll accept no less.
You try and stretch and reach
for reasons obsolete
For serving your own purposes,
for that I won’t compete
I want the place in your life
of total priority
Those other things come second
and should be done to honor Me.
Then you’ll have exactly what
you’ve been yearning for,
I have been knocking at your heart,
come and open the door.
