TITLE: I Want To Be Rich By Amber Riebe 11/19/07 |
|
Compared to You gold is as dull as an ordinary stone.
Silver doesn’t come close to the beauty of You
seated upon Your holy throne.
All the diamonds in the world can’t shine as bright
as Your glorious light
and all the jewels on this earth are nothing
compared to You in my sight.
Nothing I could ever find within the depths of this earth
can ever compare to what You’re worth.
I don’t want treasure from the bottom of the ocean blue.
My soul only longs to be rich in You.
My King, You are all I will ever need.
You mean more to me than any earthly thing.
I’d rather have You
than all the treasure this world holds.
The treasure I want is much too valuable
to ever be bought or sold.
If I have all I want on earth and I happen to lose You,
than I won’t have anything more than a common fool.
Nothing I could ever find within the depths of this earth
can ever compare to what You’re worth.
I don’t want treasure from the bottom of the ocean blue.
My soul only longs to be rich in You.
Being rich here on earth is not my goal.
I don’t want to be rich here and lose my soul.
To me the treasures of this earth
are nothing more than worthless things.
The only treasure I need or want
is You, my precious Savior and King.
You hold all the riches I long to possess.
In order to have You, I would willingly give up all the rest.
Nothing I could ever find within the depths of this earth
can ever compare to what You’re worth.
I don’t want treasure from the bottom of the ocean blue.
My soul only longs to be rich in You.
So Lord, please bless me with all the riches You hold.
Pour all of Your treasures into my soul.
Fill me with every last ounce of the wealth You possess.
I just want to be rich in You and nothing less.
Everyone says when a person dies
they can’t take anything along;
but I know they’re all wrong.
When I die, I’ll be sure not to leave my treasure behind.
