TITLE: Strengthen Me By Amber Riebe 11/15/07 |
|
The pressures of this life have a way of dragging me down.
I need to break free from the world’s prison somehow.
I know someday You’ll take all the pain of this world away,
But right now the weight of it is more than my soul can take.
Wrap Your arms around me and hold me awhile.
I need to break down and loose this fake smile.
I need to pour it all out at Your feet.
I need You to fill me fresh and strengthen me.
So, my Father, for a while will you hold me in Your arms?
For a while will You strengthen me with Your loving smile?
Let me find the rest and comfort that my tired soul needs.
Will You take me in Your arms and carry me, my King?
I believe You’re the only One who truly understands,
For I know You carry all the pain of this world
In the scars upon Your precious feet and hands.
I’m feeling lost and need to I know I’m following Your plans.
Wrap Your arms around me and hold me awhile.
I need to break down and loose this fake smile.
I need to pour it all out at Your feet.
I need You to fill me fresh and strengthen me.
You’re the only One who knows exactly what I need.
While others read what’s on the outside, You go deep inside of me.
Let me find rest and comfort beneath the shadow of Your wings.
Take away the pain of this life and refresh me, my King.
My Savior, please save me from the storms of life again.
Take away the thunder, lightening, the heavy rain and fierce wind.
Please save me from drowning in this vicious flash flood.
Take away these stormy waters and flood me in Your gentle love.
Wrap Your arms around me and hold me awhile.
I need to break down and loose this fake smile.
I need to pour it all out at Your feet.
I need You to fill me fresh and strengthen me.
Scoop me up and hold me in Your tight embrace.
Lord, lift me up and shine Your light upon my darkened days.
Wrap Your arms around me and hold me awhile.
I need to break down and loose this fake smile.
I need to pour it all out at Your feet.
I need You to fill me fresh and strengthen me.
