Though maybe you didn't know it
You were the breath that gave me life
You were the strength that kept me going
Through the pain and through the strife
Though maybe you didn't know it
You were the stars that filled my sky
You were my food when I was hungry
You dried the tears when they filled my eye
Though maybe you didn't know it
You were my warmth on the coldest day
You were my sight when I was lost
And couldn't find my way
Though maybe you didn't know it
You knew me best of all
You were the legs that carried me
When all I could do was crawl
Though maybe you didn't know it
Loving you consumed my thoughts
Such peace and such contentment
To me is what you brought
Though maybe you didn't know it
When the flame began to die
The glow that once surrounded you
Must have been a lie
Though maybe you didn't know it
The nights I spent alone
The tear stains on my pillow
Because everything went wrong
Though maybe you didn't know it
Grief ripped through my soul
When our love slipped away
In my heart it left a hole
Though maybe you didn't know it
Something died in me that day
Silence overwhelmed me
There was nothing left to say
I suppose that life deals everyone
Some sorrow and some pain
And hopefully we are stronger
With the knowledge that we gain
I'm know this storm will pass
The broken heart will mend
Love will come my way again
I'll find happiness in the end
