Defying one another within this space,
Looming above me spewing rancid air,
A sour vapor I’m unwilling to share,
With wicked eyes you ravage my core,
Assessing the failings I can not ignore.
You’ve come at last to extract your fee,
Yet mystified that it doesn’t phase me.
You question me “where did valor begin?”
I reply boldly “when Christ washed my sin.”
“How is it possible you do not dread death?”
He asked, with putridly fetid rotten breath.
I smiled and whispered so he’d draw near,
“With Jesus, my savior I have nothing to fear.”
