TITLE: The Rat and The Gray

How would a Toy Rat Terrier and an African Gray Parrot become frends. These are my pets and their story
An African Gray parrot named Caesar
sat on his cage at home
His mood was very hostile
his cage was now his throne

Along came a Rat Terrier named Paris
who only wanted to play
but approached the cage so slowly
as she sensed the danger at bay

The little Toy closed in on his cage
and was sniffing all around
The Gray disturbed by this little rat
made a horrid growling sound

The Rat was bent on finding out
if this Gray she could somehow rattle
so she stuck her head inside his cage
but the Gray stood strong in battle

The Gray came down to face his foe
and making lots of noise
The Rat she stood there shaking
but then regained her poise

Maybe this is the way he plays
thought the little Rat alarmed
and then the Gray bit her on the nose
but it caused more fright than harm

I’ll not let you invade my space
this is my cage, my home
but the little Rat kept coming back
and with each bite another moan

The Rat was still determined
to make this Gray her friend
The Gray he finally gave up
and let the Rat come in

And so it was with both of them
a relationship of love and hate
and to this very day they play
This pair of odd playmates
